$139 MILLION DRUG HAUL & ANTI-TANK RIFLE SEIZED: ONTARIO POLICE SMASH ONE OF CANADA’S BIGGEST CROSS-BORDER NARCO OPERATIONS

ONTARIO – In one of the largest drug seizures by weight in Ontario history, police have dismantled a sophisticated cross-border smuggling network that flooded Canadian streets with nearly 1.7 tonnes of hard drugs worth more than $139 million.

Under Project Bay, officers seized 973 kilograms of cocaine, 660 kilograms of methamphetamine, 49 kilograms of opium, and hundreds of oxycodone pills – a toxic mountain of poison smuggled in commercial trucks across the Detroit-Windsor border.

They thought they could flood Canada with 1.7 tonnes of pure poison and an anti-tank rifle.
Police just shut it down. $139 million and 17 guns seized.

Alongside the massive narcotics haul, police recovered 17 firearms, including a rare World War II-era Finnish Lahti L-39 anti-tank rifle — a devastating .50-calibre weapon designed to destroy armored vehicles. Ammunition, prohibited weapons, cash, and high-end jewellery were also seized.

Twenty-one people now face 102 charges. Authorities call the bust a major blow to organized crime pipelines feeding Canada’s drug crisis.
